After a record-long 43 days, the federal government is back open.

President Donald Trump signed a bill Nov. 12 to fund the government through Jan. 30.

The shutdown was resolved after a group of Democrats went against their colleagues who demanded any new spending bill include an extension of subsidies that help people buy health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.
