Gadsden C-shift firefighters responded today to a large woods and grass fire in the 1100 block of Noccalula Road. Crews from Engine 1, Engine 5, Engine 6, Engine 8, Quint 4, Rescue 1, Battalion 3, Fire Marshal 1, and Ambulance 3 were all on the scene. The road was down to one lane and traffic was backed up for a while. The fire was extinguished, and the roadway is now clear.
