The Quebec government would be open to submitting certain projects that currently require approval from the federal and provincial government to a single review process as long as it follows Quebec’s rules, the province’s economy and finance ministers said Friday.
Speaking to the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal, Prime Minister Mark Carney said his government wants to work with provinces, including Quebec, so that projects only require approval from one government.
“We’ve signed ‘one project, one review’ agreements with several provinces,” he said, adding that he would like to have a similar agreement with Quebec.
