TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio — Friday marks two years since a deadly I-70 bus crash that devastated families in Tuscarawas County.
On Nov. 14, 2023, a group of 54 Tuscarawas Valley students and three chaperones were traveling to Columbus for a school conference, when they were forced to slow down for a crash on I-70 in Licking County. Semi-truck driver Jacob McDonald failed to slow down and collided with the chaperones’ car and the charter bus, killing six people.
The victims included three Tuscarawas Valley High School students, Wyatt Mosley, J.D. Worrell and Katelyn Owens, and three adults, Dave Kennat, Kristy Gaynor and Shannon Wigfield.
Shannon’s husband Rick says this day, two years later, holds weight and painful memories.
