KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — It remains unclear how the federal government's recent ban on intoxicating hemp products will impact Tennessee businesses.
The funding package that reopened the government on Wednesday night added a provision to the 2018 farm bill. Now, products sold can't have more than 0.4 milligrams of hemp-derived THC per container.
The Tennessee Department of Agriculture said Friday that they are aware of the hemp-related provisions included in the legislation.
The department said that they do not plan to change Tennessee's hemp program until more information about implementing the new regulations is known.
