Young landscaper Rhyce Harding left his western Sydney home early one winter’s day last year to drive to work.
“Drive carefully, keep safe, love you,” his mother Mary Harding said to him.
That was the last time she would see her son.
The 27-year-old was killed just hours later by Bradley Wilkinson on Jersey Rd, Blackett when he was dragged 55 metres down a busy road by the 40-year-old’s utility vehicle and left to die.
Wilkinson was on Monday sentenced to 16 years in prison, with a non-parole period of 12 years.
The court was told Wilkinson failed to stop after the road rage incident, instead driving off to his place of work where he finished his day before calling a lawyer.
He handed himself into police the next day.
