FARGO, N.D. (KFYR) - New Rockford-Sheyenne-Maddock’s second consecutive state championship win came with a wave of emotion. The Rockets were playing for a purpose in the biggest stretch of the season, and went on to defeat LaMoure-Litchville-Marion, 38-22 .
“It was an awesome feeling,” Thomas Allmaras said after scoring three touchdowns for the Rockets. “I mean, it’s still sad, but he is up there cheering us on, and I bet he is happy as hell up there.”
Rockets senior lineman Tucker Faul died in a car accident five days before the team’s first-round playoff game. The team immediately decided to dedicate the season to Faul, while they faced adversity on and off the field.
