BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – Fire crews in Stutsman County spent Friday afternoon fighting a grass fire that burned almost 30 round bales of hay.
It happened a few miles outside Woodworth, about 40 miles northwest of Jamestown.
The local fire chief says a farmer was burning weeds in rock piles when the flames got out of control.
It burned about 40 acres of land that’s in a Conservation Reserve Program.
No one was hurt, and there was no property damage.
The fire department says it’s impossible to put out the flames in the hay bales, and it will burn itself out.
