ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
The Lobo Food Pantry is located on the first floor of the University of New Mexico Union building. It has been an essential resource for students impacted by food insecurity. UNM's 2023-24 Basic Needs report reveals 58% of students are food insecure, followed by 39% impacted by "very low food security," which is considered the "most severe category of food insecurity."

On Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, LoboRESPECT director Lisa Lindquist explained the financial challenges students face despite receiving financial aid and scholarships, as well as why she and her team took action to help students in need. Students are allowed 10 pounds of food on a daily basis, as well as hygiene products. Students will have to provide proof of ID.
