COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State University unveiled Friday a statue of Jerry Lucas, who is considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
The university says Lucas was the first to become a champion at every level — winning a state high school championship, an NCAA championship, an NBA championship and an Olympic gold medal.
Lucas led the Buckeyes to three straight NCAA championship games, winning the school’s only title in 1960. He was also a three-time All-American and the National Player of the Year in 1961 and 1962.
