CLEVELAND — November is Prematurity Awareness Month , and the NICU at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital is highlighting the power of storytelling for its tiniest patients.

This fall, Rainbow was one of nearly 300 NICUs nationwide to participate in the annual Babies with Books Read-A-Thon . During the event, staff, volunteers, and families log every reading session to showcase the lifelong benefits of reading to newborns — even the tiniest babies.

This year's featured book, "Waiting for Max: A NICU Story," was written by Shaker Heights native Emily (Ozan) Rosen, who visited Rainbow to share donated copies with families.
