The Yukon Supreme Court has approved a settlement agreement between families of students at Whitehorse's Jack Hulland Elementary School and the Yukon government.

A hearing was held on Friday in Whitehorse to get court approval of the proposed settlement and legal fees. It also provided opportunity for affected families, or "class members," to state their opposition.

The court heard from one objector, who said the settlement agreement does not go far enough toward acknowledging what happened at the school, and the harm done to some former students.
