NFL fans with YouTube TV subscriptions who have been missing out on their football fix can now rest easy, as a deal has been reached between YouTube and Disney to restore the latter company's channels, including ESPN networks, to the streaming service.

In an ongoing dispute that has lasted two weeks, YouTube TV and Disney have been unable to reach a deal that keeps ESPN on the service. That created serious issues for football fans looking to catch their favorite teams on ESPN, whether it was Monday Night Football for the NFL or college football. That threw a wrench into all YouTube TV subscribers with an NFL Sunday Ticket package, who found themselves without access to Monday Night Football and unable to get a refund for their Sunday Ticket package.

But on Friday night, just ahead of this weekend's football slate, the two companies announced they had reached a deal to restore ESPN networks and other Disney channels to the air. Restoring football content to thousands of fans and ending the two-week standoff.

“We’re happy to share that we’ve reached an agreement with Disney that preserves the value of our service for our subscribers and future flexibility in our offers,” YouTube said in a statement. “Subscribers should see channels including ABC, ESPN, and FX returning to their service over the course of the day, as well as any recordings that were previously in their Library. We apologize for the disruption and appreciate our subscribers’ patience as we negotiated on their behalf.”

“We are pleased that our networks have been restored in time for fans to enjoy the many great programming options this weekend, including college football,” Disney Entertainment’s co-chairs Alan Bergman and Dana Walden and ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro said in a statement.

No further details have been released on the deal reached or how long it will last, but fans with YouTube TV can rest easy tonight knowing they now have their football action back.
