DEXTER, Maine — Dexter Regional High School is now one step closer to a lighted football facility.
A $50,000 check was awarded to athletic director Adam Gudroe Friday, capping off T-Mobile's Friday Night 5G Lights competition.
"To be in this position was really a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our community," Gudroe said.
The school has now won a total of $75,000 from this year's contest, having previously won Gudroe said that money will cover about half of the cost for lights. Dexter is now working to raise money for the remaining balance.
Ultimately, Dierks High School of Arkansas took home the grand prize of $1 million dollars.
"I know [the students] were a little bummed initially that we didn't win, but we tried our best, and it showed," Gudroe said.
The students still too
