A dog Friday was undergoing treatment in Anaheim after he was forced into a plastic bag and thrown over the fence of an animal hospital.

Surveillance video showed a woman walking toward the fence at Anaheim’s University Veterinary Center, hoisting the bag with the dog over the barrier.

Dr. Ash Hakhamian, the center’s medical director, found the dog later that morning. He said the male Maltese mix suffered severe injuries from his fall, and that part of the fence’s spike strip was knocked off.

“To see he went through this, and then hit his face or whatever he hit in that bag, and we found he sustained injuries to his jaw,” Hakhamian said. “It’s just an insult to an existing injury.”
