Against the defending NCAA Division II champions, Iowa State wrestling rolled to a victory in its home dual opener on Nov. 14. The Cyclones beat Nebraska-Kearney 37-3 at Hilton Coliseum in Ames.
The Cyclones won nine of 10 bouts, with 197-pounder CJ Carter dropping his match to Jackson Kinsella in tiebreakers 5-1. Aside from that, Stevo Poulin (125 pounds, 15-6 major decision), Evan Frost (141, 20-4 technical fall), Paniro Johnston (149, 17-9 major decision), Jacob Frost (157, 19-3 technical fall), Connor Euton (165, 17-4 major decision), MJ Gaitan (174, 15-1 major decision) and Issac Dean (184, 19-4 technical fall) all had bonus-point victories.
