England’s fast bowler Mark Wood has been cleared of a hamstring injury scare, which is a significant relief for the team ahead of the Ashes opener in Perth, six days from now. However, he will not participate in the final day of England’s sole warm-up match at Lilac Hill against the England Lions.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) released a statement, as quoted by ESPNCricinfo, confirming that precautionary scans showed no concerns regarding Wood’s left hamstring. The ECB also mentioned that Wood will continue his training as planned ahead of the Perth Test, but it remains uncertain if he will be considered for the first Test.
