BELLEVUE, Neb. —
Air Force veteran Tony Ray died at the age of 87 on Monday.
A day later, he would've been honored with a Hector P. Garcia Recognition Award for Veterans Day at the South Omaha Museum of Immigrant History.
Instead, the commemoration was delayed to Saturday.
That will be at 10:30 a.m. at the museum, on the second level of the Center Mall at 42nd and Center Street.
Ray's family sat down with KETV after his funeral on Friday. They remembered Ray, a master sergeant, as a family and military man who lived to serve others and his country.
Ray served from 1955 to 1978, and continued to serve as a civilian, his family said.
