Less than two weeks after Shan Rose won the District 5 race for Orlando City Commissioner, former Commissioner Regina Hill filed a lawsuit contesting the election results, alleging illegal campaigning and unlawful handling of absentee ballots.

On election night, Shan Rose expressed gratitude to her supporters, saying, "Thank you, District Five. Four more years? Four more years."

Regina Hill congratulated Rose, stating, "We'll take tonight and regroup then tomorrow comes, but for tonight. Congratulations to Commissioner Rose."
