A record 48 teams will compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
On Friday, Croatia secured its place with a 3-1 win over the Faroe Islands, while the Netherlands moved closer to qualification with a 1-1 draw against Poland.
A total of 43 teams will earn their spots through continental qualifying tournaments. Another two will be decided in intercontinental playoffs featuring six teams, scheduled for March in Mexico. The three host nations automatically qualify.
