Each year during American Education Week, the Distinguished Graduate Steering Committee begins the process of selecting a graduate from Butler High School to receive the Distinguished Graduate Award.

Anyone can nominate a graduate who has achieved something outstanding in their chosen profession or has made contributions to the community, state or country.

The nomination form is available on the main page of the district’s website, basdk12.org, and at any school office, according to a news release from the district.

The deadline to submit nominations for the award is March 1. The winner of the Distinguished Graduate Award, who will be announced in May, will be invited to speak at the Top Ten Percent Recognition Ceremony and invited to attend the high school’s commencement.
