Lehigh came to Piscataway looking to pull off a major upset against Rutgers , and for much of Friday night’s meeting at Jersey Mike’s Arena, the Mountain Hawks put up a fight.
Dylan Grant and Emmanuel Ogbole kept them from completing their upset bid.
The star sophomore forward and oft-maligned starting center carried the Scarlet Knights to an 84-72 win over Lehigh behind two career performances, combining for 44 points on 16-of-23 shooting and 14 rebounds.
Grant led the way in the first half, scoring 18 of his career-high 26 points before the break, while Ogbole — who scored 15 of his 16 points in a second half in which he shot 7-of-7 from the field — had the best stretch of his college career during a tense final 20 minutes.
