PAWTUCKET — Rhode Island FC has found it again.
The magic of last year’s playoff run has returned. RIFC is off to the Eastern Conference championship again after it won its second road playoff game against North Carolina FC on Nov. 8.
They’ll travel to Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Saturday for a 6:30 p.m. start time (aired on ESPN+). Rhode Island is 7-3 in its last 10 elimination games – they have a certain level of grit when its win-or-go-home that coach Khano Smith thrives on. Rhode Island has also advanced in five consecutive road playoff games against Eastern Conference opponents.
