PERRY — Lake County Perry quarterback Nate Trefzger threw a touchdown and ran for a touchdown as the Pirates shut out West Branch 21-0 in Division IV, Region 13 OHSAA playoff game . It was just the second time West Branch has been shutout since 2017.
Trefzger gave Perry (10-2) the lead with an 10-yard touchdown pass to Justin Costello with just 33 seconds to play in the second quarter. West Branch (10-2) blocked the extra point to go into halftime down just 6-0.
After a scoreless third quarter, West Branch found itself backed up on its 1-yard line in the fourth quarter after a Perry punt.
