Rookies Alex Lisi and Xandre Aitken helped the Chatham Maroons get off to a great start Friday.

Each scored in the first two minutes and finished with two goals in a 6-2 win over the St. Thomas Stars before 537 at the Joe Thornton Community Centre.

Max Skinner and Brody Najim also scored as the Maroons ran their winning streak to three games and their point streak to 12 games (10-0-1-1).

Sammy DiBlasi made 21 saves, improving his record to 9-0-0-1 while snapping the Stars’ five-game winning streak.

The Stars have 18 rookies. Their top eight scorers and 11 of their top 12 are rookies.
