Much-loved radio DJ Sara Cox is the toast of the nation after a gruelling charity challenge raised millions of pounds for children.

Her marathon feat of endurance for Children In Need - covering a staggering 135 miles in just five days - was even praised by royalty, with Prince William giving her a call to congratulate her.

It's a far cry and a world away from her wilder 'ladette' days of the 90s.

The Bolton-born BBC Radio 2 DJ - now an established author and broadcaster - first shot to fame after a stint as a model on Channel 4's The Girlie Show, which she presented late on Friday nights with Sarah Cawood and others.

Presenting The Big Breakfast alongside Chris Evans followed, a path already trodden by her friend, Zoe Ball.
