The RJD may have been routed in the Bihar assembly elections , securing just 25 seats, but there is a silver lining for Tejashwi Yadav. Emerging from Lalu Prasad Yadav's shadow, Tejashwi ran an energetic campaign, drawing enormous crowds, but it failed to translate to seats. However, all is not lost for the RJD as it received the maximum vote share, more than the BJP and JD(U), showing that it remains popular among the people of Bihar.
According to the Election Commission, the RJD, which won 25 of the 143 seats it contested, secured 23% of the vote share - the highest by a single party in the elections. It was a slight dip from the 23.11% vote share it received in the 2020 polls, where it emerged as the single largest party with 75 seats.
