Mumbai Indians (MI) have traded Arjun Tendulkar to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction in an all-cash deal. LSG will play Rs. 30 lakh from their BCCI-sanctioned purse to MI for the left-arm pacer, who is also the son of former MI captain and international icon Sachin Tendulkar.
The move might come as a surprise to some. Tendulkar junior was first picked by MI for INR 20 lakh in 2021, and they continued to keep signing or retaining him over the years, which was easier because not many franchises showed solid interest in his services. He did not get many matches at MI either, finally making his IPL debut in 2023 and playing five games for three wickets at an economy of 9.36.
