New Delhi, November 15, 2025: The State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest lender, has announced a major change in its digital banking services. The bank will discontinue the mCash facility on its OnlineSBI and YONO Lite platforms after November 30, 2025, impacting users who relied on sending money using only mobile numbers or email IDs.
What Was mCash? Why Is It Being Discontinued?
mCash allowed SBI’s internet banking customers to transfer money without adding a beneficiary. Users simply entered the recipient’s mobile number or email, after which the receiver would get a secure link and an 8-digit passcode to claim the funds into any bank account.
