Former IPS officer Shivdeep Wamanrao Lande, who contested the Bihar assembly elections as an independent from both Araria and Jamalpur, failed to secure a win in either of these seats.
Hailed as ‘Bihar’s Singham’ for his fearless policing and bold actions, Lande finished far behind the major party candidates in both seats, despite garnering wide public attention for his electoral debut.
In Jamalpur, JD(U)’s Nachiketa Mandal pulled off a commanding win over IIP candidate Narendra Kumar, while in Araria, Congress candidate Abidur Rahman defeated JD(U)’s Shagufta Azim.
