For the first time since its inaugural run after the 2014 season, Florida could have a team in the College Football Playoff . Sure, Miami could make it , but they're still a longshot. It's not Florida or Florida State, either.
South Florida rose all the way to No. 2 in 2007 and broke back into the top-10 in 2008 before suffering second-half slides in both seasons. But under coach Alex Golesh, the Bulls have put together a notable 2025 season that kicked into high gear with a game-winning field goal by Nico Gramatica to stun Florida in September. Quarterback Byrum Brown has become a star with his dual-threat ability: He ranks in the top-35 in the nation with 2,203 passing yards and the top-50 with 705 rushing yards.
