A car chase ended with a crash in Cottesloe on Saturday, with a chivalrous bucks party guest stepping in to give police a hand.
The pursuit started in Hamilton Hill about 2.30pm as a Toyota 4wd wove its way through the suburbs.
It ended with the Toyota smashing into a rental car outside of a shopping complex on Station Street.
Sam Page was leaving his friend’s bucks party when he saw the driver take off running.
“I was leaving a good friend’s bucks party, and I saw them running up the road and thought ‘Why not stop what’s happening’,” he said.
“I went outside and decided to become a hero.
“I feel like Australian of the year, I feel like I should be nominated for that.”
A local shopowner said she saw the commotion and ducked into her store before locking the front door.
