The Lafayette Urban Ministry’s annual Turkey Trot 5K brings the community together on Thanksgiving morning for a festive run that also supports a meaningful cause. Wes Tillett, Executive Director of LUM, says the event offers both fun and purpose.

“The turkey trot is a fun activity of 5K race, and all the proceeds. Go to help the overall mission of lump. We want to be a lifeline of help and hope to our neighbors and so anybody who participates in the turkey trot is helping us be just that every dollar that is earned at the turkey trot 5K that's the registration fees. The people that have sponsored this event all of that goes directly to supporting our mission and we do see extra needs throughout the winter months again it supports a great cost and whether you're fast or slow or somewhere
