U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib on Friday, Nov. 14, introduced a resolution by which, if it were passed, the U.S. House would recognize that Israel's government committed genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza and call for arms shipments to be stopped and sanctions to be imposed if called for.

“Since the so-called ceasefire was announced, Israeli forces haven’t stopped killing Palestinians,” said Tlaib, D-Detroit, who is the first Palestinian-American woman to be elected to Congress and who has remained a fierce critic of Israel and its aggression in Gaza in response to the attacks of Oct. 7, 2023. “Impunity only enables more atrocity."
