The Conservative ranks shrank by two slots this month. Considering who was lost and the circumstances of their departure, it alone doesn’t tell us much about the party. It does, however, tell us a lot about media bias.
After the budget was released on Nov. 4, Nova Scotia MP Chris d’Entremont — an MP who held various shadow cabinet positions with the Conservatives since he was first elected in 2019, and was Commons deputy speaker for a time — crossed the floor to join the Liberals.
He would go on to tell Postmedia he had been in talks with the Liberals prior to the budget about crossing.
