Synopsis: Manikandan (47), a resident of TV Nagar and the BJP’s district president of the Weavers’ Wing, had been involved in a long-standing dispute with his neighbour, DMK functionary Arumugam (49).

A DMK functionary who allegedly attacked a BJP office-bearer in Chennai’s Thirumangalam area and fled the scene has been arrested, on Saturday, 15 November, police said.

Manikandan (47), a resident of TV Nagar and the BJP’s district president of the Weavers’ Wing, had been involved in a long-standing dispute with his neighbour, DMK functionary Arumugam (49).
