Peter Crouch has revealed how Roy Keane's withering stare compelled him to sell his Aston Martin - without the Irishman uttering a single word to him.
The former striker splashed out on the supercar in 2005 following his £7million transfer to reigning Champions League holders Liverpool from Southampton. That same year saw Crouch earn his England debut, with the ex-frontman deciding to treat himself to the luxury motor to mark his newfound footballing success at merely 24 years old.
Yet his ownership of the Aston Martin proved remarkably brief as he offloaded the vehicle within days of purchasing it, following a fleeting encounter with the Manchester United icon at traffic lights.
