CONWAY -- Conway's crew of youngsters took another step towards maturity Friday night.
The Lady Wampus Cats turned up the heat in the second quarter to build a lead and withstood an offensive onslaught by Whitley Rogers to beat Little Rock Christian 67-60 in the semifinals of the Mulhearn Constructors Lady 'Cat Invitational at Buzz Bolding Arena.
Conway (2-0), which beat Little Rock Parkview 59-39 in the opening round Thursday, will try to win the tournament for the fifth consecutive year Saturday when it faces Earle in the final. The Lady Bulldogs beat Nashville 54-35 in Friday's other semifinal.
But the Lady Wampus Cats were pushed to the max by the Lady Warriors, namely Rogers.
