Glasgow's 'oldest' hat shop is to close after 61 years due to rising costs and a move away from formal weddings.

Ella Bulloch Hats & Accessories, on Clarkston Road, has made the difficult decision to close its doors for good after serving generations of locals. The family-owned business was opened by Ella in 1964, who spent most of her life providing a personal experience to wedding goers, until her retirement at the age of 99 in 2013.

Gordon and Carol Bulloch, who took over the running of the shop , took to Facebook to announce, that their last day of opening will be on Saturday, December 20. In a post they wrote: "It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that we are closing our family business, Ella Bulloch Hats & Accessories, Glasgow’s oldest hat shop.
