CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy defense continues to shine. The most recent example was their fourth shutout of the season, a 30-0 victory vs. Akron East Dragons Friday in the Division III regional semifinals.

The Royals’ defense has only allowed 80 points this season, many of which have come against their second stringers. Only four teams have scored more than seven points against them, with Lake Catholic’s 21 (a 28-21 CVCA win) being the high mark.

“These guys’ motor, their ability to pursue the football, independent of what the coach calls, is incredible, said CVCA head coach Nick Cook. “They are buying into the fundamentals of their positions, and their willingness to play 11 as one is great.”
