Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan has slammed the Eden Gardens track, calling it ‘awful’, as 26 wickets fell in two days and the first Test between India and South Africa is rushing towards a three-day finish.

Star India allrounder Ravindra Jadeja grabbed four wickets as he demolished the Protea top and middle-order to leave the visitors reeling at 93/7 in their second innings at stumps on day two of the first Test in Kolkata on Saturday, November 15.

Earlier, pacer Marco Jansen and off-spinner Simon Harmer took seven wickets between them as South Africa skittled India for a paltry 189 in the first innings.

“Awful pitch in Kolkata … #INDvSA," Vaughan tweeted on Saturday afternoon.
