GREENSBURG, Pa. – Zakhar Bryndin tallied a hat trick, with one goal in each period, as Bishop McCort Catholic edged Hempfield 5-4 Thursday in a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League Class 2A game.

Bishop McCort (6-2-0) led 3-1 after the second period, but Hempfield (6-2-0) scored two goals in a row to begin the third. Bryndin and Ben Cannizzaro (one assist) each potted markers in the third to go up by two. Hempfield’s Giulio DiPietro (two goals) scored with one second left to set the final. ×
