CHARLESTOWN, N.H. —
A man is hospitalized after being shot by police following a police pursuit in Charlestown, authorities said.
The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office said around 8:30 p.m. Friday night, a Charlestown police officer tried to stop a speeding vehicle not displaying a license plate.
The vehicle was driven by Christian Paquette, 23, on Claremont Road in Charlestown and refused to stop and accelerated away and a pursuit began, which speeds reached an estimated 90 mph, authorities said.

Eventually Paquette stopped the vehicle and left on foot and during a foot pursuit, the officer saw Paquette holding a knife, which he refused to drop and came towards the officer, authorities said.
