The United States is reportedly formulating a long-term strategic plan to divide the Gaza Strip into two distinct zones. According to a report by The Guardian , the division into a ‘green zone’, the eastern part, under Israeli and International Security Force (ISF), is where reconstruction would start, while the ‘red zone’ would be left in ruins.

Under the proposal, the red zone, which is the western portion of Gaza, was heavily damaged during the two years of the Israel-Hamas conflict. No reconstruction is scheduled here in the near future.
