Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy has said that PM Modi is discussing prospects for critical minerals with whichever country he is traveling to, and high-level meetings are underway for MoUs with all possible countries for critical minerals.
Speaking to the media after inaugurating the pavilion of the Mines Ministry at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025, he said that India is eyeing collaboration with South American countries on Lithium, rare earths, Nickel and Cobalt. He described the recent royalty rate rationalisation on minerals as an attempt at raising domestic production in line with the current global conditions.
A few days back, the Union Cabinet had rationalized royalty rates of Graphite, Caesium, Rubidium and Zirconium minerals to promote auction of their mineral blocks
