A little under a year ago, Timnath resident Amanda Knoph was on her daily drive down Interstate 25 when she noticed a colorful banner announcing the future Children’s Museum of Northern Colorado hanging at the Loveland Yards. As a frequent patron of the Children’s Museum of Denver with her daughter Avery, having an alternative closer to home was a tantalizing idea.

“So, I looked up Ryan (Howard) and reached out,” Knoph recalled. “I wanted to know more.”

Nine months later, Knoph is not just one of the project’s most enthusiastic champions, she’s also one of 12 board members working to bring the long-held dream to life. And this week, that dream moved another step forward when the board announced that construction for Children’s Museum of Northern Colorado will begin in January.
