Mandeville found itself in a hole early against 15th-seeded Thibodaux during a Division I nonselect first-round playoff game on Nov. 14.
The 18th-seeded Skippers didn't blink as they reeled off 41 straight points to earn a convincing 48-27 road victory.
Mandeville (7-4) will travel to second-seeded Neville (7-3) in the second round.
Against Thibodaux (8-3), it was a masterful performance by the Skippers’ offense that racked up nearly 500 yards. Freshman QB Krew Collura was 18-of-22 passing for 348 yards and five TDs. He also ran for 50 yards and a score.
His favorite target was junior Luke Demelo, who finished with 184 yards and three TDs on seven receptions. Junior Jake Jacketti added 46 yards and a TD on three catches. Senior Jax O’Quin had 57 yards rushing, along with two receptions
