William C. “Bill” Knapp, a hard-charging entrepreneur who founded Knapp Properties and is credited with reshaping the Des Moines skyline, has died, says his company, Knapp Properties.

Knapp, 99, who the company called "a once-in-a generation leader," died Saturday, Nov. 15, at his Van Meter home of natural causes, with his wife, Susan, by his side, a family spokesperson said. Funeral arrangements are pending at Iles Funeral Home in Des Moines.
