An 80-year-old pedestrian died after he was struck by a car in Cranston on the evening of Friday, Nov. 14, according to Cranston police .
Police responded to reports of a pedestrian who had been hit on Atwood Avenue , said Cranston police Maj. Todd Patalano. The victim, who has not been identified, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, he said.
The driver who hit the man was charged with operating with a suspended license and driving an unregistered motor vehicle, Patalano said.
An investigation into the death continues, he said.
