Nearly 3,000 scooters are being recalled from Yamaha Motor Company after the company discovered they’re at risk of loosing control from an engine stall.

The recall is for certain 2018 through 2022 XMAX scooters, according to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) .

In total, 2,715 scooters are being recalled because the camshaft retainer bolt may loosen and not properly secure the shaft, causing the engine to stall. This could cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

Yamaha estimates that 30% of these recalled scooters could have the defect. The company did not mention in its Nov. 12 report if there have been any injuries or deaths related to this recall.
